32 week ultrasound update

Earlier this week we had another ultrasound. They measured overall growth, which happens every 4 weeks.

Additionally, I’m starting weekly ultrasounds called BPPs (biophysical profile) and weekly NSTs (non stress tests). The BPPs measure movement, tone, amniotic fluid. NSTs measure heart rates and movement.

Our baby is now 4 lbs 9 oz and in the 54th percentile. 4 weeks ago, Nugget was in the 40th percentile. So he may have had a growth spurt. The sonographer even made the comment that nugget had long legs, much like his dad and big brother and had a lot of hair, like his mom and big brother too.

We are thankful that he seems to be growing well thus far and pray that this trend continues.

After much thought and prayer, we have decided against doing amnio. Even though it’s low risk, neither Darren nor I want to risk my water breaking. Also, from a spiritual perspective our community encouraged us to put our faith in the Lord vs. a diagnosis.

Emotionally, I think we are doing much better. Whatever happens, I know things will be ok. That said, I still pray for a baby without DS.

Here’s a pic of our little guy. We won’t be revealing the name until we meet him. But here’s our little nugget.
